The Susquehanna Greenway Partnership (SGP), a non-profit organization dedicated to creating and preserving the Susquehanna Greenway, has made significant progress in its mission to establish the largest greenway in Pennsylvania.
The Susquehanna Greenway, a unique environmental project that combines stunning natural features and local communities, is a conserved corridor of undeveloped land acting both as a sanctuary for wildlife and a pathway for exploration. The Susquehanna Greenway’s trails follow landmarks such as natural features, historical sights, and riverside communities. Acting as more than just a recreation area, the greenway enhances the health and well-being of communities by promoting active living and protecting local ecosystems.

Alana Jajko, the Director of Communications and Outreach for SGP, highlighted the numerous benefits of the greenway, including natural floodplain mitigation, increased property values for adjacent homes, and a boost to local tourism economies.
“The Susquehanna Greenway is not just about protecting the environment; it’s about connecting people to nature and each other. When finished, the Susquehanna Greenway will feature 500 trails, river access points, and parks across the state of Pennsylvania,” said Jajko.
The organization offers a variety of programs, including hiking and water trail experiences, community meetups, and extensive education and outreach efforts.
